I notice a lot of the copy and paste behaviours have changed for v4, but this one is just killing me I put the cursor around measure 16 and it pastes to measure 70 I'd upload the rpp but its ten megs and shup wont let me
Do you want to zip and email the rpp to support at cockos? If possible, with some instructions as to how to duplicate the problem. The usual culprit for this type of problem is the new "smart cut" default, which cuts the entire time selection if there is one, and if all the selected items are inside the time selection. But in your screenshots it doesn't look like you have a time selection set. If it turns out smart cut/copy is the problem, you can go into the actions window and reassign ctrl+C and ctrl+X to the versions of the cut/copy actions that say "ignoring time selection."

I'll get it to you. I forgot to add one possibly important fact. I have regions in the project and where it did paste was a duplicate of the region. Here it is zipped I did have a time selection set at first, but it wasnt pasting to there. I think I was able to get rid of it. I'm sure the new copy/paste stuff is cool, I just don't understand it yet and havent had much time to try it out, so Im just trying to get the old behaviour back for now. I can't email the zip right now because my site is going to a new server, but if you see this, you can grab it from the rar in this post
Thanks for the project, what do I do to reproduce the problem? I think there is a good chance it will fix your unexpected behavior to open the actions window and reassign ctrl+C and ctrl+X to the versions of the cut/copy actions that ignore the time selection, so that's probably worth doing regardless.
1. Click the item on the kick track that starts at 12.1 2. Hit control G to select all items in group 3. Control C to copy the selected items 4. Go to 16.1, click to put the cursor there 5. Hit paste. 6. If you ever come back to IRC, explain what the new copy behaviours do, I hate to get rid of them if they actually do cool stuff
OK, I can reproduce the problem. Let me look into what is causing it and get back to you. .. FWIW, the behavior is the same in 3.75. I think when we figure it out, there will be an "aah!" moment.
